Vibia Designs Brighten a Boutique Mykonos Hotel

Situated on a bay in Greece’s Mykonos Island, the boutique Kensho Ornos hotel mixes modern luxury and traditional Cycladic architecture. The award-winning property features work by a roster of international designers and makes ample use of natural materials like local stone and aged wood.

Among the artisanal design is lighting by Vibia. Greeting guests in the reception area is the Match pendant by Jordi Vilardell and Meritxell Vidal. Composed of slender metal rods capped with LED light terminals, it draws the eye directly to the desk.

The fixture is finished in matte lacquer white, blending into the space’s pale palette while adding a striking accent. Match’s customized arrangement strikes a stunning geometric pose, featuring three clusters of jagged geometric forms directed downward in a sculptural focal point.

Outside, the pool area is illuminated by the Antoni Arola and Enric Rodriguez-designed Bamboo floor lamp. Reminiscent of its namesake plant, Bamboo features a slender stalk studded with LEDs. Its organic profile integrates seamlessly into the al fresco environment and casts a warm wash of light that reflects onto the pool.

Several of the lamps are propped casually against a whitewashed wall, brightening the blank expanse and completing a cozy seating area. Additional Bamboo fixtures in varying heights bookend a group of tables adjacent to the pool, lending vertical dimension.
