Layers of Light: introducing ceiling lamps from the Flat collection

Designed by Ichiro Iwasaki, Vibia’s Flat ceiling lamp features delicate, disc-shaped diffusers positioned at different heights. The flat metal plates form horizontal planes that reflect ambient light off their surface, casting an enveloping glow that appears illuminated from within.

The minimalist ceiling lamp is a study in geometry marked by layers of light that integrate with the surrounding architecture. Capturing the signature aesthetic of Iwasaki, it appears to float overhead, infusing a space with a soothing, Zen sensibility.

Flat is available in small or large sizes with a one or two discs. The single-disc style directs diffuse light up towards the ceiling; the double disc’s smaller, complementary plate captures and reflects light back at the larger disc, creating a pocket of soft, pooled light. A triple-disc version is available for commercial use.
